You can often find that Financial Advisers thrive off mathematical challenges and Simon Keeble is no different!
Since joining 2mtrust in 2022, Simon has studied and trained as a Financial Adviser through the Openwork Business School - which has had it’s fair share of mathematical challenges with all the tips to learn, retain and apply to financial planning.
But he’s not all percentages and pound-signs!
We’ve asked Simon a few questions so you can get to know him a little better – read on to find out more…
1. What did you do for a job before coming to work with 2mtrust?
I worked at an engineering facility, which involved calibrating equipment for various different companies. I found out pretty quickly that that wasn’t something I wanted to do long term however.
2. What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy going for walks. I usually try to go for at least one walk per day as I feel it’s good for the soul and gives me time to think and process.
I’m an active member of Jesmond Parish Church and enjoy getting involved with their social activities.
I have a young niece that I see on a regular basis who I really enjoy spending time with.
3. What has been your favourite holiday so far?
My most recent holiday was to France and Switzerland with a group of my friends from university. We got to explore Annecy and Geneva, both of which were incredible.
It was also great to spend time with friends that I don’t get to see very often. It was also only my second holiday abroad and second time going on a plane.
4. What is your favourite meal of the day?
If I was being sensible, I would say breakfast.
But if I’m being honest, then it’s tea.
5. Do you have a favourite food?
I do like a roast dinner. Normally our go-to meat as a family is chicken, but I could quite happily go for beef, lamb or pork as well. Whenever I’m having a roast, I always like there to be plenty of roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, peas and, of course, gravy.
6. What is your favourite film, tv show or book and why?
One of my favourite movies is The Dark Knight.
I’m a big fan of superhero movies in general and I think The Dark Knight is the gold standard for the genre. Not only does it feature one of the greatest performances of all time in Heath Ledger as The Joker but it also boasts an incredible score and some impressive special effects.
7. Do you speak any other language?
No. I did German up to GCSE and got a B. I don’t really remember all that much to be honest.
8. What is your favourite season and why?
My favourite season is Spring as that’s when we start to get the brighter, sunnier weather without it getting too hot (I don’t do particularly well in heat).
9. Do you have a life/family motto?
My favourite verse in the Bible is Philippians 4:6 which says:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
I remember hearing that at the exact right time in my life and it has stuck with me ever since.
10. What is (or what would be) your karaoke song?
I’ve only ever done karaoke once. On that occasion, I did two songs: “All Star” by Smash Mouth and “Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie.
So, did you learn something new about Simon Keeble?
He may be one of the newest Financial Advisers to join 2mtrust but Simon has picked up the heart of the team, studied hard and has quickly become a well of financial planning knowledge and is building a great reputation with his clients and colleagues alike.
