Karoline Wellborne once sang for the King of Norway and now she’s in the 2mtrust “chorus” of qualified Financial Advisers delivering excellent financial planning.
With a caring heart for her community and a drive for helping clients keep an eye on their finances, Karoline is one of two female Financial Advisers in our Chartered Financial Practice. But you’ve not come here for the “shop talk” have you..?
We’ve asked Karoline some questions so you can get to know her a little better. Read on to find out more…
1. What did you do for a job before coming to work with 2mtrust?
I worked as a secondary school English teacher for over 20 years, then as a foster carer for 3 years before becoming a Financial Adviser.
2. What do you like to do outside of work?
I am quite heavily involved in my church and I am a trustee of 2 charities - Newcastle Mother’s Union and Northumbria Deaf Mission.
I also run a book group, love the cinema and theatre.
3. What has been your favourite holiday so far?
A Greek Island cruise- an ideal mix of sight-seeing and being pampered.
4. Do you speak any other languages?
Yes my mother was Norwegian so if I wanted to talk with any of my older relatives, I had to learn the language.
5. Do you have a favourite food?
Salt and Vinegar crisps are my to-go snacks but Chicken and Green Pepper with Black Bean sauce is my favourite meal - takeaway or home cooked.
6. What is your favourite film, tv show or book and why?
Too hard to chose just one book! The Brontes, Margaret Atwood or Robert Harris for a great page turner.
Film would probably be Singing in The Rain - still funny over 70 years later.
However, TV show is easy- Doctor Who. I’m a complete sci-fi nerd!
7. What is your favourite season and why?
Spring because of the sense of new life and optimism it brings. May is my favourite month- book-ended by Bank Holidays, family birthdays and Norwegian Constitution Day right in the middle!
8. Do you have a life/family motto?
Be kind.
9. What advice would you give your teenage self?
Don’t worry- life has a way of working things out.
10. What is (or what would be) your karaoke song?
Waterloo by Abba. Guaranteed to get everyone singing along (and hopefully drown me out a little bit!)
So, did you learn something new about Karoline Wellborne?
She has been a pillar in the 2mtrust team for many years so when lockdown hit and the opportunity to train as a Financial Adviser came up, Karoline pivoted from a support role to qualify as an Adviser. Always full of golden nuggets of industry information and advice, Karoline is often a go-to person when members of the team have questions.
Karoline is always happy to chat with, help and encourage others whether family, friend, colleague or client. We love having her on the team!
