Matt Elliott is one of the Financial Advisers at 2mtrust and he specialises in Mortgages and Protection.
With a family of his own, this native Geordie understands the importance of planning for your family’s future as well as your own. Matt is passionate about providing excellent customer service and financial advice for his clients - but that’s enough shop talk for now!
We’ve asked Matt some questions so you can get to know him a little better outside of work-mode. Read on to find out more…
1) What did you do for a job before coming to work with 2mtrust?
I worked for Virgin Money bank as a Mortgage and Protection Adviser. I led training meetings on the latest industry changes and also helped customers who were in financial difficulty finding solutions to improve their situations.
2) What do you like to do outside of work?
I am a passionate Geordie who supports his local club Newcastle United.
I also like walking in the countryside, playing golf and fishing.
3) What has been your favourite holiday so far?
New Zealand, Maldives (honeymoon) and also Disneyland Paris with the family.
4) What is your favourite season and why?
Summertime - you have more daylight and weather is warmer and you can have more fun with family and friends being outside.
5) Do you have a favourite food?
Steak or Lasagne!
6) What is your favourite film, tv show or book and why?
“This Is Us” is best TV show ever written! It just gets you hooked from the start - it’s all about a family and the situations that unfold over the years in the family. Just really good!
I also like “We Bought a Zoo” because it a true story of a family who followed their dreams and how they succeed.
7) Do you have a favourite colour?
Red
8) What is your favourite meal of the day?
Tea because we all get together as a family and can catch up on what we have all being doing.
9) What advice would you give your teenage self?
Surround yourself with people who lift you up and make you better.
Enjoy the little things that come along - often these are the stories you will remember your whole life and can often make you who you are.
Always be kind to people.
10) What is (or what would be) your karaoke song?
